Escatale / Escalate: (Part II of Three Easy Steps) is the second stage of an ongoing project that first began during the Triassic period when the vessel Sonis’s spirit inhabited floated into being as a mono-celled microorganism. It was then that he tried to demonstrate to his colleagues his grandiose dreams of one day becoming a giant peace-seeking vegetation-loving beast. Diagrams were drawn, songs were written, dioramas glued together. The problem with the initial show was that said colleagues had other things on their minds and did not appear to quite get it. Sonis went on with his life, willed himself into vertebrated beasthood and realized his dreams.
By the dawn of the Cretaceous Period, Leviathan Onset Attention Deficit Disorder (LOADD) led him to temporarily abandon Part I of his project: ‘Beast: What I Want to Be When I Grow Up’ and spend some time abroad.
In 1976, after a several millennia-long tramp through a myriad of galaxies, he was drawn back toward Planet Earth. Through the gate of a human woman’s screaming birth canal, he slipped out as a life form with automatic membership into a genetically devolving pleasure cult called Homo Sapiens.
Part II aims to interpret the last 3.5 decades of his time with the human race, examining social stratification, suicidal dependency on the remnants of the products of his past lives, and the constant search for self gratification.
