Meant to spark a shift in mindset about who might be innocent, moral, chaste, and possibly even ‘better’, and to entertain the hormones through some of the world’s sexiest music, Marianismo is a multi-sensory exploration of the virgin-whore dichotomy. The participant is expected to become involved by playing with the light switch and listening to the music via headphones coming from the mattress.

In daylight, this found floral mattress, with years of history on top of her, has written on it, the words of several adulterous and possibly sinful poems.
At night, the mattress demonstrates innocence via a passage from the Song of Solomon and its perceived theme, under an unfamiliar and sexy black light, written in stains.
